Arindam:- Good Afternoon, viewers. You are watching your favorite show 'Wine With Arindam' on 'Royal Bengal Tigers' TV Channel. Today, in our episode, we have invited the No.1 Chef of India, Mr. Sanjeeb Kapoor. Welcome, Sir, to our show. Thanks a lot for coming here.
Sanjeeb:- Wow, the setup of your studio is not bad at all. Wow, the wine is already served for me.
Arindam:- Sir, my first question to you is that, as a man, how you have mastered the art of cooking?
Sanjeeb:- Arindam, let me tell you one thing that cooking is not a MBA degree, where you need to learn about the management skills and then implement it. Cooking is just like a passion. If you are a foodie, if you love to always have nice and tasty foods, then the desire to cook something special, will come from within your heart only.
Arindam:- Don't mind, but, as a boy, I have never cooked anything. Basically, in India, cooking is regarded as the job performed by women only.
Sanjeeb:- No, I don't agree to it. Men also do cooking on their own. Why should you rely on a woman for cooking a food. You cook your own food.
Arindam:- But, cooking is very tough. I don't even know, how to turn on a Gas oven.
Sanjeeb:- Ha ha ha...once you cook food for the first time and then eat it. If the food cooked by you tasted good, then it will give you a mental satisfaction. You will jump and say to your friends that you have cooked food for the first time. Now, gradually, that cooking habit will become an addiction for you.
Arindam:- Maybe, you are right. But, I will still prefer my wife to cook food for me. After all; women are expert in cooking tasty foods.
Sanjeeb:- So, you want to say that men don't know how to cook tasty foods. Then I should say that you are wrong. See, a woman always abides by the traditional cooking. She always follows the ingredients and the style of cooking, which she has learned from her mother or grandmother. They will never experiment, while cooking.
Arindam:- Well, I agree that men are professionally trained in cooking, while they pursue hotel management.
Sanjeeb:- No, no, I am not talking about the training in the Hotel Management courses, even women are also trained there. That is a different issue altogether. What I am trying to emphasize is that, men are more innovative while cooking. They always try out new things, while cooking a particular dish. Take the case of me only. I always observe, what kind of dishes, our customers are liking.
Arindam:- So, you follow the strategy of 'Think Global, Act Local' theory, while cooking dishes?
Sanjeeb:- Exactly, you are partially right. See, location wise, the taste and the type of a particular dish varies. In South India, maybe, spicy foods are more popular, whereas in North India, it is less spicy. Now, a woman will never compromise on these things. If a Delhi boy gets married to a Chennai girl, then he has to eat the spicy sambhar dals only. But, if that boy is a cook, then he will become expert in cooking both the north and south Indian dishes with proper experimentation. Take the case of me only. I never stop after cooking a dish. I always think, how to improve the quality of this dish and how to add more nutritious value to it. That is where the role of Chef comes in.
Arindam:- Now, don't tell me that for cooking good quality foods, all 5-star hotels have Foods Analyst...he he he...
Sanjeeb:- Ya, all 5-stars hotels have that kind of people. Maybe, you are not aware of it. Boss, better, you try to cook food yourself, you will also feel that you can cook better than a woman and you don't need to rely on your wife also.
Arindam:- Thanks for your suggestion. I will try to follow it. After this discussion, I am convinced that "MEN ARE BETTER IN COOKING THAN WOMEN". Before , we end our show, Sir, do you have any message for the young stars, who are studying hotel management or cooking foods?
Sanjeeb:- There is no right or wrong results in cooking, unless you know the exact timings and the ingredients. The more you fail in the initial stages of cooking, you have a chance to become a high-quality Chef, because, experience of bad experiments in cooking teaches you a lot.
Arindam:- Thank you Sir, once again, for coming to our show. Viewers, see you again later. Till then, Good Bye.
