Arindam:- Good evening, viewers! You
are watching your favourite show, “WINE WITH ARINDAM” at the Royal Bengal Tigers
TV Channel (RBTV Channel). Today, in this special evening, we will enjoy
drinking Red Wine with Mustard Prawn Rolls and Fried Mustard Hilsha. In this
episode, our guests are Hiranmay (A party worker of TMC), Ramesh (A party
worker of BJP), Subimal (A party worker of Congress Party), Kabiraj (A party
worker of CPIM) and Giridhari (A party worker of GJM). So, guests, thanks for
coming to our show. Let us say cheers first and have a sip of this great red wine.
Cheers! So, Giridhari (A party worker of Gorkhaland Janamukti Morcha), what’s
the point in having strikes for so many days in the hilly areas of North
Bengal? Are these strikes going to help the poor people of hilly areas anyway?
Giridhari (A party worker of GJM):-
We want Gorkhaland at any cost. This revolution started way back in 1907.
Kabiraj (A party worker of CPIM):-
Don’t call it a revolution. Actually, it is a rebellion.
Arindam:- Oh! Both these words are synonymous,
Kabiraj (A party worker of CPIM). By the way, we are getting information that
CPIM is adding fuel to the fire to gain some mileage in this issue.
Hiranmay (A party worker of TMC):-
Yes, it is the brutal truth. I don’t understand why there will be a separate
Gorkhaland. Already, Bengal Government under the leadership of Mamata Banerjee
has formed the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration. GNLF weakened up and now
GJM will also get weakened in the coming years.
Giridhari (A party worker of GJM):-
If the Telangana issue can be solved then why not the Gorkhaland issue?
Arindam:- Exactly! There lies the
problem. Subimal (A party worker of Congress Party), why your party suddenly
went in favour of forming a separate Telangana state? We all know that BJP
started its campaign for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls of 2014 by saying that if
BJP comes to power at the centre, then they will form the Telangana State.
Subimal (A party worker of Congress
Party):- We were never against the Telangana issue. See! The logic is simple.
If you divide a big state into several small states, then it helps you to administer
those small states efficiently.
Arindam:- BJP also told the same
thing when they strongly favoured the formation of Jharkhand, Chattisgarh and
Uttarakhand. That time, Congress party was opposing the move, but, now, the
same Congress party is chanting the same mantras of BJP. Really, it is
popularly known as POLITICS. Ramesh (A party worker of BJP), the economic
growth of all the newly formed states is not up to the mark. Jharkhand saw so
many Chief Ministers. BJP is also playing games regarding this issue. Why is
Jaswant Singh too interested in forming a separate Gorkhaland?
Hiranmay (A party worker of TMC):-
BJP even used Jashwant Singh for the Lok Sabha constituency of Darjeeling in 2009
to get some political mileage in West Bengal. Bengal already got partitioned by
British people into two halves. Now, there will be no further partition at any
cost.
Ramesh (A party worker of BJP):- We
are not supporting the formation of Gorkhaland, but, we also appreciate the
fact that Bengal Government has failed to bring overall socio-economic
development in the northern hilly areas of West Bengal. CPIM has done nothing
for the hilly areas of Bengal and now TMC is also failing to bring development
at that region.
Kabiraj (A party worker of CPIM):- At
least, in our tenure, our Jyoti Basu always negotiated with Subhash Ghisingh to
retain peace and prosperity in Darjeeling and other adjoining areas. But, Bimal
Gurung found out some weaknesses in this new Bengal Government and started
demanding almost anything. Congress has taken a bad decision on Telangana issue
at a bad time.
Arindam:- The Gorkhas are not
actually Bengalis, but, they are always a part of Bengal. Actually, Gorkhas
have their origin in Nepal only. Now, formation of small states always creates
new CM posts and other cabinet posts. Bimal Gurung wants to become the Chief
Minister of a small Gorkhaland State. What a greedy politician he is? Will the
formation of Gorkhaland improve the socio-economic development of the Gorkhas?
Giridhari (A party worker of GJM):-
Maybe or may not be. But, at least, we can resolve some problems in the hilly
areas in our own way and that too rapidly.
Hiranmay (A party worker of TMC):- It
is easier said than done. Why Hyderabad has been declared as the joint capital
of Telangana and Seemandhra? Why Andhra Pradesh is not divided into 3 parts; Andhra,
Rayalseema and Telangana?
Ramesh (A party worker of BJP):-
Congress party wants some more votes from the Telangana region. They also have
a plan to merge with Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) for the upcoming Lok Sabha
polls.
Subimal (A party worker of Congress
Party):- Then as per your logic, we will lose many votes in Seemandhra region.
Our Congress party has taken the right decision about Telangana issue.
Arindam:- No, we, the common people
of India don’t think so. Rather, we would regard it as a traditional ‘Divide
& Rule’ policy. Look at the negative repercussions of this decision. There
are demands regarding the formation of Gorkhaland, Bodoland, Vidarbha,
Saurashtra, Bundelkhand and many other small states. It may bring chaos and
instability in the political administration system of India in the near future.
Giridhari (A party worker of GJM):-
Let there be chaos and instability. We want our Gorkhaland. That’s full and
final.
Ramesh (A party worker of BJP):- We wanted
to utilize the Telangana issue for the Lok Sabha polls of 2014, but, the Congress
party played a good game at the right time.
Subimal (A party worker of Congress
Party):- But, we never expected such a violent agitation regarding the formation
of Gorkhaland at this juncture. It is turning out to be a curse in disguise for
our Congress party.
Kabiraj (A party worker of CPIM):-
Bimal Gurung and his party workers have given us some issues to fight back
against Mamata Banerjee at this juncture.
Hiranmay (A party worker of TMC):- We
will not allow our Bengal to get divided at any cost. Darjeeling will always
remain as a part of Bengal. Even if the Congress party or BJP decide to form a
separate Gorkhaland after coming to power after 2014 Lok Sabha polls, we will
not let it get implemented at any cost.
Arindam:- Ok! We are running out of
time. We will end our discussions here. All the viewers of our RBTV Channel;
don’t be surprised if India becomes a nation of maximum number of “SMALL
SEPARATE STATES” in the World in the near future. Unity in Diversity is good
but too much Diversity in the name of so many small states is also not so good
at times. This is India, where politics always ruins the life of common people
like us. See the fun! Can’t help it boss! Anyway, see you all again later. For the
time being, I bid goodbye to all our viewers.
