PEPSI IPL-6 OF 2013 !!!

Arindam:- Hello viewers! After a long gap, we are again back with our show, ‘WINE WITH ARINDAM’ at your favorite TV Channel, RBTC (Royal Bengal Tigers Channel). Today, we have so many eminent personalities in our studio. As you can see that all the eminent personalities are holding a glass of wine! Let me say cheers to them. Cheers to all. Have a first sip of the red wine. So, Mr. Gabbar, please give your feedback about the Pepsi IPL 6.

Gabbar:- DLF has done the right thing by withdrawing themselves from IPL. But the Pepsi Company came forward to sponsor this IPL6. IPL6 started off well. In the initial matches, all the teams were very competitive to each other and full of energy. We saw some outstanding catches. Gurkeerat of KXIP caught a blinder at the boundary region. What to say about Ponting! The 40 year old Aussie proved that he is also a top-class fielder like Jonty Rhodes. Pollard took two important catches at the boundary rope to win two matches for his team. But, the coolest catch of IPL6 was taken by Eoin Morgan of KKR.

Kancha:- Despite having such a player like Morgan, KKR failed to perform. Actually, KKR lost too many close matches. DD also struggled though they are a very dangerous squad. PWI repeated the same story of failures. But, KXIP impressed everyone with their fighting spirits, especially, that innings of Miller was really special.

Shakaal:- Miller is a good player but not as good as Gayle. Oh! What a Gaylestorm we witnessed in IPL6! He created a new record. On that particular day, Gayle was playing like a demon. Gayle is a very valuable player for RCB, but, Shane Watson is one step ahead in all-round performance.

Mogambo:- RR reached the qualifying stage due to some players like Watson, Dravid, Hodge and Samson. Samson is really the surprising young talent of this IPL6. But, RR team also had some villains like Sreesanth and Chandila. Another player was also involved in spot-fixing, though he failed to execute as per bookie’s instructions.

Arindam:- The spot-fixing has surely hampered the brand image of IPL6. Money-laundering by violating FEMA Act was bad but this betting is worse than that. Maybe, that’s why; Lalit Modi and Shashi Tharoor got some mental consolation as the betting scandal of IPL6 leaked out. Srinivasan got a boo-boo feedback from the spectators of Eden Gardens on the final day of IPL6 because his son-in-law is also involved in betting. Dara Singh’s son is acting like a Hanuman with a burning tail to fire up the entire Lanka kingdom of betting.

Shakaal:- Even the Moon has dark craters on its surface, but, she is still so beautiful. As so much money and glamour is involved with IPL, it is obvious that some young greedy cricketers are bound to become victims of those bookies. Point to be noted that some Pakistanis including Dawood never stopped the business of betting even after the death of Hansie Cronje of South Africa. If we filter out betting from this IPL6, then you have to appreciate that some of the matches of this IPL6 were quite thrilling. Almost 70% of the matches in this IPL6 went down to the wire. Thanks to SRH. The bowling attack of SRH proved that a team can also defend 130 runs or so in a T20 match. SRH became the real villain of RCB. What a bad luck for Virat Kohli!

Gabbar:- MI got a new captain and that new captain proved to be lucky for his team. Both Sachin and Ponting played like young cricketers. Rohit Sharma led the team well. But, Pollard is the real key player of MI, followed by Dwayne Smith.  Rahul Dravid also changed his playing styles according to the T20 format, but failed to take his team to the final.

Kancha:- Hussey got orange cap and Bravo got purple cap, but, still, CSK failed to lift the IPL trophy despite reaching the final again. KKR defeated CSK in the final of IPL5 and now in IPL6 final, MI defeated CSK.

Mogambo:- Dhoni is still the best captain of T20 format cricket, but, as wise men always say that Cricket is a funny game. You never know the outcome of the match till the last ball of the match is bowled. But, yes, it is also true that CSK batsmen forgot the basics of cricket on the final day. Instead of going for partnerships, they tried to hit big shots. MI bowlers capitalized on it. Overall, IPL6 has been a good IPL tournament, because in this IPL, the bowlers got some respect for the first time.

Arindam:- Yeah! It was a sporting IPL, though; the spot-fixing scandal in the last two weeks of the IPL6 was like the thorns in roses.  Even in SET MAX channel, in the T20 Extra Innings program, Sidhu Paa ji rocked with Sunny Bhai. Srikkanth also entertained everyone with the Viswanathan dance when SRH qualified for the Play-offs. We gave a piece of paper to each of our eminent personalities in our studio to rate IPL6 out of 5 points. After averaging their ratings, the “PEPSI IPL6 OF 2013” got 4 points out of 5 points which is quite good. Thanks to all the eminent personalities for coming in our show. Viewers, we will end our show here. See you later again. Till then; take care and goodbye for the time being.
