MODERN BUSES OF INDIA

Arindam: - Good morning, viewers. Today in our episode of ‘WINE WITH ARINDAM’ in your favorite Royal Bengal Tiger (RBT) TV Channel, we have invited Mr. Dulal. He is the designer of the new “MODERN BUSES OF INDIA”. Welcome to our show, Mr. Dulal. Tell us something about your recent modern buses.

Mr. Dulal: - Oh! Arindam, you must board those buses once. Those are just superb. All the buses have a spongy outer surface of around 6cm width. During accidents, it will prevent the bus from severe damages. All the tires have double protection as well as these are water-proof tires. It does not skid on the roads, if it gets wet. The buses have the seat capacity for 50 passengers and 3 seats are allotted for driver, helper and conductor. Standing is not allowed in this bus. Whenever you board the bus, the conductor will ask you for tickets. Say, you have boarded the bus at Thakurpukur and you want to get down at Rashbehari. The conductor will give you a ticket with say, seat number 36. Now, there is a computer terminal inside the bus, which can only be accessed by the bus employees. They have software running in that computer. In the main screen of the computer, you can see the seat numbers of that bus. If the seat numbers are reserved, then the color of the seats will show green and if it is not reserved, then it will show red. Before you boarded the bus, the color of the seat no. 36 was showing red in color. But, now, when the conductor gave you the ticket for seat no. 36, the color of that seat in the computer screen will remain green in color till you get down from the bus at Rashbehari. So, that computer screen helps the conductor to decide whether to allow any passenger to board the bus or not. If all the seats are in green color, he will not allow anyone to board the bus, till any of the seats get red in color. There are two smoke detectors inside the bus. Smoking is not allowed. There is only one exit-entry door at the left side of the bus. There are three emergency exit doors at the right side of the bus. There are no A/C facilities inside the bus. But, there are fans on the ceiling, which runs on solar energy. There are two trays of Solar Photo-voltaic cell, which are kept at the roof of the bus. There is Khash-khash system at the upper part of each window, to convert hot air into cool air.

Arindam: - Is there any change in the engine-system?

Mr. Dulal: - There are two types of engine in this bus. One is for driving on the land and another one for sailing in water. There is an electronic gear box in front of the driver seat. The driver does not need to use any gear-handle to change gear every time. There are four buttons in the gear-box, where it is printed, Gear 01, Gear 02, Gear 03, Gear 04. Just press any of the buttons at a time, as per your requirement; the bus will run in that gear only. A strong sensor is there at the front-side of the bus. When it senses any big object within 1 meter from the front side of the bus, a computer-generated voice comes out, ‘Hey Driver, please slower your speed’. When it senses any big object within 0.5 meter from the front side of the bus, it automatically stops. There is an automatic brake, in that bus, to stop the bus, whenever it finds any big object within half meter in front of it. This will prevent many accidents. Now, at the bottom part of this bus, there are two layers. In one layer, there are four tires and in the other layer, there is large single pad, with a propeller. In the engine box, there are two buttons, one is ‘Bus Engine’ and another one is ‘Boat Engine’. When you want to sail the bus on a river, just press the button of ‘Boat Engine’. The layer of 4 tires will be folded up and the other layer of strong pad will come down and the propeller will start working. Now, the bus can sail on the river like a machine boat or sea-vessel. Already, we are planning to run a bus from Esplanade to Ganga Sagar. In the middle of the journey, the bus will sail like a sea-vesssel on Hooghly River from Harwood Point to Kachuberia.

Arindam: - Thank you Mr. Cheetah for sharing all these things. So, viewers, here we are ending our show. Goodbye.
